Promise yourself to be so strong
that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
Look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.
Think only of the best,
work only for the best,
and expect only the best.
Forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
Give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true
to the best that is in you!

Simplifying

1. Eat oatmeal everyday. (Quaker's Take Heart Golden Maple...yum!)
2. Salon, once every 4 weeks.
3. Deep tissue/Hot stone massage, once every 2 months.
4. Cafe mocha (whopping 400 calories, not counting whipped cream!), once a week.
5. Muay Thai, 3 times a week.
6. Run, 2 times a week.
7. Splurges, once every quarter. (Better golf clubs!)
8. Ladder CDs.
9. Eat out much less.
10. Vitamin, iron pill and a lot of water everyday.

To be continued...

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. ~Leonardo DaVinci

Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind. With respect to luxuries and comforts, the wisest have even lived a more simple and meagre life than the poor. - H.D.T.

In a gentle way, you can change the world. - Gandhi

Still to be neat...

Still to be neat, still to be drest,
As you were going to a feast;
Still to be powder'd, still perfum'd:
Lady, it is to be presum'd,
Though art's hid causes are not found,
All is not sweet, all is not sound.
Give me a look, give me a face,
That make simplicity a grace;
Robes loosely flowing, hair as free:
Such sweet neglect more taketh me
Than all th'adulteries of art.
They strike mine eyes, but not my heart.

Ben Jonson

Be the change...

I shall pass through this world but once.

Any good therefore that I can do

or any kindness that I can show to any human being,

let me do it now.

Let me not defer or neglect it,

for I shall not pass this way again.

- W.P.

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. - HH The Dalai Lama
